What are the components of CNC wire cutting machine?

The CNC wire-cutting machine tool is composed of several parts, including:

Worktable:

It consists of a worktable surface, middle support plate, and lower support plate. The worktable surface is used to install fixtures and workpieces to be cut. The middle support plate and lower support plate are driven by stepper motors and transmitted through gear transmission and ball screw, completing the longitudinal and transverse movements of the worktable surface.

Wire-feeding mechanism:

The wire-feeding mechanism mainly consists of wire drum, wire-feeding motor, and guide wheel. The wire drum is installed on the wire drum support plate and driven by the wire-feeding motor through a coupling for forward and reverse rotation.

Supply system:

The supply system consists of a work fluid tank, hydraulic pump, and nozzle, providing sufficient and suitable working fluid for the cutting process of the machine tool.

Pulse power supply:

The pulse power supply is an energy device that generates pulse current. The wire-cutting pulse power supply is one of the key equipment that affects the process parameters of wire-cutting.

Control system:

The entire wire-cutting process and the trajectory of the wire are digitally programmed and controlled according to ISO format and 3B, 4B format processing instructions.

The processing principle is that the high temperature generated by the spark melts and forms uneven spots on the contact, which is an electro-corrosion phenomenon. It can cause poor contact of the switch and eventually damage it, which is the harmful aspect of electro-corrosion. Currently, electro-corrosion can not only be reduced and prevented by scientific methods, but also successfully used for various metal processing, thus inventing the CNC wire cutting/ EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) method.

Using electrode wire (such as molybdenum wire, tungsten molybdenum wire, etc.) as the tool electrode, under the action of the pulse power supply, spark discharge occurs between the tool electrode and the workpiece, and a large amount of heat is generated in the spark channel, causing the workpiece surface to melt or even vaporize. The wire-cutting machine tool moves the electrode wire along the predetermined trajectory through the movement of the XY and UV tables, thereby achieving the purpose of machining the workpiece.
